A new premium shopping centre is set to be opening in Tāmaki Makaurau this September, with an exceptional line up of retailers and an unrivalled shopping experience.

Mānawa Bay has revealed a preview of the list of committed retailers, including some brands opening their first ever stores in Aotearoa.

Major international brands, Hoka, Guess and Timeless Watches, will be unveiling their inaugural stores in New Zealand. In addition, iconic global brands, Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Swarovski and Helly Hansen will be launching their first ever ‘outlet’ stores in the country, alongside their existing retail stores.

Located on the edge of the Manukau Harbour at Auckland Airport, Mānawa Bay will offer an unparalleled shopping experience for Kiwis on the hunt for international and local brands at discounted prices.

Mānawa Bay Centre Manager Linh Luong said, “We’re delighted to bring New Zealanders something they haven’t experienced before, both with the brands on offer and the full shopping experience itself.

“It will have outlet prices, exclusive stores and a unique destination experience. The centre’s thoughtful design will see the eateries opening out onto an outdoor space. The alfresco dining overlooks the water and there is a play area for kids"

"There's nothing else quite like it in New Zealand.”

“Targeting a 5 Green Star rating, the building will be set on park-like grounds, including more than 100,000 plants and 200 trees, which are currently being planted. The centre is set to create an oasis for customers to enjoy.

“There will be more than 100 stores on offer, focusing on athleisure, women's and men’s fashion and street wear, as well as accessories, footwear and homewares, all supported by a great food and beverage offering. We’re excited to share this selection of confirmed brands, and we’re looking forward to revealing more details as we get closer to the opening.”

Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger will open their largest stores in the country, along with global sportswear brand Nike which is opening a 1500m2 tenancy.

Further brands confirmed to open within the centre include Adidas, Huffer, Coach, Converse, FILA, Flo & Frankie, Hype DC, Icebreaker, Lorna Jane, Hurley, Bendon, Brooks, MacPac, Platypus and Levis, plus more to be announced over the coming months.

Construction

Construction of the 35,000m2 centre is on track, with the roof now completed and the final internal concrete pours due to be completed this month. Over 60 per cent of the internal walls have been constructed and lined, and shopfront roller doors are being installed. Shop fit outs will start in June, as preparations continue for the centre to open in September

Mānawa Bay is expected to have the largest rooftop solar system in New Zealand on top of the 35,000m2 building.

Transport

Mānawa Bay is conveniently located with access from the North and South-East, access to public transport options nearby and a short drive from Auckland Airport’s terminals and hotels.

Transport and traffic is a central consideration in the design of Mānawa Bay. There will be ample parking and opening hours will be 10am – 7pm for shoppers to avoid busy traffic times. Travel to and from the airport terminals will be prioritised.

Auckland Airport is currently underway with refreshing the transport investment plans, and will be working with Auckland Transport and NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi to plan and deliver improvements across the wider area.
